The Rani
Oracle Text
Whenever The Rani enters or attacks, create a red Aura enchantment token named Mark of the Rani attached to another target creature. That token has enchant creature and "Enchanted creature gets +2/+2 and is goaded."
Whenever a goaded creature deals combat damage to one of your opponents, investigate.

Character Background
The Rani is at her best in a disruptive tempo-value shell, where she turns combat into a resource engine instead of simply trying to race. Her enters-or-attacks trigger immediately pressures the table by forcing a Mark of the Rani onto another creature, making an enemy threat bigger while also goading it into attacking elsewhere; that means you can redirect combat and keep shields down while you set up. The real payoff is the Investigate trigger, which rewards you whenever a goaded creature connects with an opponent, steadily fueling card advantage and artifact synergy. In deckbuilding, pair her with effects that grant additional attacks or blink/replay her, since both multiply Mark tokens and the number of compelled attacks. She also plays nicely with sacrifice outlets and artifact-matter cards, because Clues can convert surplus combat chaos into tangible advantage. Thematically, she feels like a manipulative scientific mastermind: dangerous, calculating, and happiest when everyone else is fighting on her terms.
