Character Background
Preordain is one of Magic: The Gathering’s cleanest blue setup spells, and in Mystery Booster 2 it remains a deceptively powerful common for any deck that cares about consistency. It best supports control, combo, and tempo strategies, where spending one mana to improve your next draws is often better than simply cycling a card. Scry 2 lets you smooth early land drops, bury redundant cards, or dig toward a key answer, and the follow-up draw keeps your hand moving without losing speed. In practice, it shines in decks with tight card requirements, like combo shells that need to assemble specific pieces or reactive control lists that must find removal and countermagic on time. It also pairs well with shuffle effects, fetch lands, and effects that care about top-card manipulation, since you can lock in a strong draw then shuffle away the rest if needed.
