Card Details
Mana CostCharacter Background
Ob Nixilis, the Adversary is a ruthless, high-pressure planeswalker that fits best in Rakdos tempo or sacrifice-oriented midrange decks, where every point of life and every card in hand matters. His casualty text makes him especially nasty in shells that already want disposable creatures, since sacrificing a small attacker or token can turn one cast into two separate threats, each with its own loyalty total and snowball potential. The +1 is a classic attrition tool: it punishes opponents for holding resources, and in a Demon- or Devil-heavy build it also pads your life total, helping stabilize after early aggression. The -2 is excellent in sacrifice decks because the Devil token turns into immediate damage when it dies, feeding aristocrat-style payoffs. If you can reach the -7, the card becomes a brutal finisher that refills an opponent’s hand only to bleed them dry, making Ob Nixilis both a board presence and a looming inevitability.
