Gonti, Lord of Luxury
Oracle Text
Deathtouch
When Gonti enters, look at the top four cards of target opponent's library, exile one of them face down, then put the rest on the bottom of that library in a random order. You may cast that card for as long as it remains exiled, and mana of any type can be spent to cast that spell.

Mana CostCharacter Background
Gonti, Lord of Luxury is a classic value-control creature that turns every cast into a small theft operation, perfect for slower black decks that want to grind resources while disrupting opponents’ topdecks. A 2/3 body with deathtouch makes him awkward to attack into or block through, so he often buys time while his enter-the-battlefield trigger quietly generates card advantage. In Commander Legends: Battle for Baldur’s Gate, the “cast it with mana of any type” clause is especially strong in multicolor decks, since it lets you steal and deploy almost anything you find. Gonti pairs well with flicker or blink effects like Ephemerate, Teleportation Circle, or Conjurer’s Closet, since repeated ETBs can snowball into a pile of stolen spells. He also plays nicely with sacrifice recursion and bounce engines, making him a durable tempo piece in attrition-heavy shells. The lore feel is pure shadowy indulgence: a refined thief who turns other players’ libraries into his private vault.
