Mana CostCharacter Background
Enthusiastic Mechanaut is a clean example of Kamigawa: Neon Dynasty’s spellcraft-meets-machinery aesthetic, a Goblin Artificer that looks perfectly at home rushing through neon skies while bolting artifacts together mid-flight. On the battlefield, it best supports tempo and low-curve artifact value decks: a 2/2 flier for two mana already pressures life totals, and the discount on artifact spells lets you keep developing while holding up interaction. It is especially strong when your deck is packed with inexpensive artifacts, since it effectively turns cards like Clues, Treasures, artifact creatures, and equipment into even better curve fillers. In Izzet shells, it can help you double-spell earlier, while in artifact-heavy builds it smooths out turns where you want to deploy a threat and still advance your board. Prioritize cards that reward casting artifacts, because Mechanaut makes those engines come online faster and keeps your air assault moving.
