Card Details
Mana CostCharacter Background
Personal Tutor is a deceptively simple blue spell that shines brightest in control and combo shells, where turning a single mana into perfect future access can define a game’s rhythm. As a sorcery, it asks you to spend your turn setting up, but the reward is precision: you can stack your draw step with the exact sorcery you need, whether that’s a sweeper, a win condition, or a critical setup piece. In Commander, it becomes especially strong alongside high-impact sorceries like Time Warp, Cyclonic Rift, or a combo enabler such as Demonic Consultation-style lines in decks that can exploit a one-card topdeck plan. It also pairs well with shuffle effects and top-deck manipulation, letting you turn a tutor into a near-guaranteed draw rather than waiting unpredictably. The card’s flavor feels like a private lesson in arcane preparation, and mechanically it rewards players who value foresight over raw speed.
