Card Details
Mana CostCharacter Background
Minthara, Merciless Soul fits best in a resilient aggro or grindy value shell that can keep pressuring life totals while turning small sacrifices into a growing damage engine. Her ward {X}, scaling with experience counters, makes her increasingly frustrating to remove, so she rewards a deck that can repeatedly let permanents die or be sacrificed without losing momentum. The key line is the end-step trigger: if anything you controlled left the battlefield, you gain an experience counter, and that turns every future attack into a bigger clock because your creatures get +1/+0 per counter. She pairs well with token makers, sacrifice outlets, and disposable permanents like Treasures or Clue-heavy engines, since those help trigger her while preserving board presence. In Commander, she especially likes black-white recursion and attrition tools, letting you rebuild faster than opponents can answer your steadily widening threat.
